FilterPro ("we", "our", or "us") is a Shopify application operated by Thriftizer Solutions. We take privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we collect and use your data.

This Privacy Policy applies to all merchants who install FilterPro from the Shopify App Store and to all customers who interact with FilterPro widgets on Shopify storefronts. Please read this policy carefully. By installing and using FilterPro, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect only the minimum data necessary to provide the FilterPro service. Here is exactly what we collect and why:

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively to provide and improve the FilterPro service. Specifically, we use it to:

• Power Search & Filtering: Index your products to enable real-time search, filtering, and sorting on your storefront
• Generate Analytics: Create performance reports and search insights visible in your FilterPro dashboard
• Deliver Service Notifications: Send important updates about FilterPro features, maintenance, or changes that affect your store
• Provide Support: Respond to your support requests, diagnose issues, and help you configure FilterPro
• Prevent Fraud: Detect and prevent misuse of the service
• Improve FilterPro: Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve search algorithms and product features
• Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data at all times:

• Encryption in Transit: All data exchanged between your Shopify store and FilterPro servers uses TLS 1.2+ (HTTPS) encryption
• Encryption at Rest: All stored product data and configurations are encrypted using AES-256 encryption
• Secure Infrastructure: Our systems run on SOC 2 Type II compliant cloud infrastructure with 24/7 monitoring, automated backups, DDoS protection, and intrusion detection
• Access Controls: Strict role-based access controls (RBAC) ensure only authorized personnel can access systems. All access is logged and audited
• Security Audits: We conduct periodic third-party security assessments and vulnerability scans
• Incident Response: We have a documented incident response plan and will notify affected merchants within 72 hours of any security breach

5. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the service:

• While Installed: Your product index, settings, and configuration data are retained for as long as FilterPro is installed on your Shopify store
• After Uninstall: When you uninstall FilterPro, all your product data, settings, and configurations are automatically and permanently deleted within 30 days
• Immediate Deletion: You may request immediate deletion of all your data at any time by emailing praveen@thriftizer.in. We will confirm deletion within 5 business days
• Analytics Data: Anonymized, aggregated analytics with no store or customer identifiers may be retained for up to 12 months for service improvement purposes

6. Customer Privacy (Shopper Data)

FilterPro is designed from the ground up with customer privacy as a core principle:

• We do not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) about your store's shoppers
• Search queries entered by customers are processed in real-time and are not persisted, logged, or linked to customer profiles or sessions
• We do not set any tracking, targeting, or behavioral cookies on customer browsers
• We do not build customer profiles, track customers across websites, or engage in behavioral advertising
• FilterPro acts as a data processor under Shopify's data processing terms. Our access to customer-facing functionality is limited to real-time search and does not involve customer data

7. Third-Party Services

FilterPro uses the following third-party services to operate. We share only the minimum data required:

• Typesense: We use Typesense as our search engine to index and serve your product data. Only the specific product attributes you configure are indexed and shared. Typesense processes data according to their privacy policy.
• Shopify API: We access your product catalog through the official Shopify Admin API using permissions you explicitly grant during installation. Our Shopify API usage is governed by the Shopify API Terms of Service.
• Cloud Hosting Providers: Our infrastructure runs on secure, certified cloud providers in compliant data center regions. These providers process data solely on our behalf and are contractually bound to protect it.

We do not use third-party advertising networks, analytics trackers, social media pixels, or any other data-sharing services beyond those listed above.

8. Your Rights

As a FilterPro merchant, you have the following rights regarding your data:

• Right to Access: Request a copy of all data we hold about your store at any time
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of any inaccurate data we hold about your store
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request permanent deletion of all your data. We will complete this within 30 days (or 5 business days on request)
• Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format (JSON or CSV)
• Right to Restriction: Request that we temporarily restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances
• Right to Object: Object to our use of your data for specific purposes
• Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by uninstalling the app

EU and UK residents have these rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR. California residents have rights under the CCPA. To exercise any right, contact us at praveen@thriftizer.in. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies

FilterPro itself does not set cookies on shopper browsers. The FilterPro admin dashboard, accessed through Shopify, may use standard Shopify session cookies required for authentication and security purposes.

We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or behavioral analytics cookies of any kind.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve or laws change. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
• Send an email notification to the address associated with your Shopify account at least 14 days before changes take effect
• Display a prominent notice inside the FilterPro app

Your continued use of FilterPro after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to any changes, you may uninstall FilterPro at any time.
